Irene Banda – Board Chairperson

Irene Banda (PhD) is an organisational strategist, an entrepreneur, a research scholar, an author and a financial services expert with a passion for transformative solutions. She has a corporate background in banking and microfinance with exposure in Africa, Latin America, Asia and Eastern Europe. She served as Global Director for ECLOF International in Geneva; as Africa Regional Director for Opportunity International, USA; and as General Manager with Financial Sector Deepening Zambia.

 

She holds a Doctorate (PhD) from Middlesex University, London, and a Master’s Degree from Leeds University UK.

 

She has served on various Boards in Zambia and across the globe

Mr. Kakenenwa Muyangwa – Board Director

Mr. Muyangwa is a seasoned business professional with over 35 years of experience in business negotiations, strategy, corporate recoveries, audits, and metals trading. He has held senior roles at Konkola Copper Mines Plc, including Chief Internal Auditor and Sales & Marketing Manager.

 

His regional mining and investment expertise spans Madagascar, South Africa, and Botswana, and he also worked in Audit and Advisory with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Zambia and the UK.

 

He has represented ZCCM-IH on the Boards of Mopani Copper Mines Plc, CNMC Luanshya Copper Mines Plc, and Kariba Minerals Limited. Currently, he serves as a consultant to the African Development Bank’s special operations unit and as a Non-Executive Director at First National Bank Zambia Limited.

 

Mr. Muyangwa is a mining expert with roots in the industry dating back to 1987 at ZCCM. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering from Imperial College London and is a Fellow of ACCA.

 Mrs. Suzyo Namonga Ndovi-Akatama – Board Director

Mrs Suzyo Namonga Ndovi-Akatama is a qualified Legal Practitioner and Notary Public, with extensive expertise in compliance, governance, and legal affairs. She has held various roles across both the private and public sectors, bringing a wealth of experience and a commitment to ethical leadership.

She holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Zambia and a Master of Laws from the University of London. In addition, she has undertaken specialised training in sustainable business practices and responsible leadership through the Swedish Management Institute.

Mrs Akatama is a member of both the Law Association of Zambia and the Institute of Directors Zambia. She currently serves as an Audit Committee Member under the Ministry of Tourism and as a Non-Executive Board Member at Clarkson Insurance and Risk Services. She previously served as a Council Member on the Zambia Bureau of Standards Council.

Suzyo Namonga Ndovi-Akatama

 Ms. Nalituba Mwale – Board Director

Ms. Nalituba C. Mwale is a seasoned Human Resource and Administration professional with over 25 years of service in the Zambian Civil Service. She is the Director of Human Resource and Administration at the Ministry of Finance and National Planning, where she provides strategic leadership in human capital management, organisational development, and administrative governance. She holds a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland.

 

Ms. Mwale has served on several boards in various capacities, contributing to governance, institutional reform, and staff development. Her work is guided by professionalism, integrity, and a strong commitment to public service excellence.

Rodney Machila

Director

Mr. Rodney Machila – Board Director

Mr. Machila is a seasoned public sector professional with over 22 years of experience in government service. He currently serves as Assistant Director at the Ministry of Finance and National Planning, where he coordinates and monitors the performance of government investments to optimize returns.

 

He has held several strategic roles, including Assistant Director for Corporate Governance, Policy and Planning, Principal Planner, Programme Officer (Policy and Implementation), and Regional Labour Officer. His expertise spans policy development, strategic planning, project monitoring and evaluation, corporate governance, and labour administration.

 

Mr. Machila holds a Master of Arts in Economic Policy Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Zambia, as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Project Monitoring and Evaluation.

Mwaka Mwamulima

Acting CEO

Ms. Mwaka Mwamulima – Acting CEO 

Ms. Mwamulima is a risk management and finance professional with over 10 years of experience in banking and microfinance. She has expertise in credit risk, enterprise risk management, compliance, fraud management, business continuity, and information security.

She is currently serving as Acting Chief Executive Officer of Zambia Gold Company Limited (ZGCL).

Prior to this role, she worked in the banking sector as a Risk Management Expert for Access Holding Microfinance AG, Risk Manager at AB Bank Zambia, and as a freelance Risk Management Consultant.

Ms. Mwamulima holds a Bachelor of Agricultural Science and an MBA in Finance and Accounting, and is a certified Risk Management Expert.
